Welcome to East Middle School!! Home of the Eagles of Excellence! Our school is undertaking a reform effort using the Turnaround Model. This means that we have many new staff members working for the success of all of our students. The state of Missouri is supportive of the turnaround model and provided us the opportunity to apply for a school improvement grant. East Middle School applied for and received a substantial grant from the state of Missouri. Our faculty is committed to providing our students with a challenging curriculum, high expectations and the support to help each student achieve at high levels. With this funding comes many new resources for our students including specific interventions such as READ 180 and Skillstutor as well as Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club. These interventions are designed to help student both academically and socially. We have added staff to guide our instruction and interventionists to support our students during our Learning Lab and throughout the school day. We are confident that East Middle School will have noticeable improvements and provide the quality educational experiences our students deserve.
